In order to keep any personal costs of this project to a minimum I am looking to find various items of equipment or reference works / books to help me identify and verify fungi and other microscopic items of wildlife I come across. Having purchased the basics myself, re. a microscope and basic equipment for the project it would be nice to be able to, let me say, recycle, any equipment that might not currently have a use, and in pursuing my goal regarding achieving a comprehensive photographic record of the fungi that occur in both counties.
The sort of things I am looking for include books, field guides, reference works (monographs), eyepieces, graticules (micrometers), stains, reagents, chemicals, slides, cover slips, lab. glassware, test tubes, microscope adapters, dissection tools etc. etc.. The main problem I have is in the fact that I'm not a charity and so I'm not able to seek grant funding that would enable me to progress as I would like, thus I need the help of people or businesses in the region who would be willing to support my objectives; in supporting the photographic recording of the fauna and flora of our region for the purposes of education and the prosperity of knowledge. Who knows, but together by the use of IT we might even encourage an up and coming generation into taking up a career in biological sciences. Please let me know if you might be able to help support the project. E-mail.
Similarly, if you can help in identifying any of the fungi on the Fungi to Identify page of this website, then please contact me, your help is may be invaluable, and either in verification, ascertaining an identification, or in raising a point for discussion. Thank you.
